Worker's Compensation

INSIGHTS – WORKPLACE INJURIES

The Workers’ Compensation Act was a body of law first written in the early 1900s, which intended to "remedy" the losses sustained by employees who were injured during the course and scope of employment. The Act has specific rules and requirements, which must be followed. If you are injured at work, you should immediately:

  1. File an incident or accident report with your employer;
  2. Seek or request medical evaluation;
  3. File an Employees Claim Petition with the assistance of an attorney; and
  4. Prepare an impact statement that describes your functional complaints as a result of being injured.

The Act sets forth very specific time periods. If you have any questions regarding your rights under the Workers’ Compensation Act, Social Security or Retirement Disability, please contact our office and schedule an appointment with Scott Tashjy.
