TO VICTIM OF HEAD CRUSHING ACCIDENT TO RECEIVE SETTLEMENT OF $2.8 MILLION*

B.R.  was seriously injured when a defective product malfunctioned, which caused the boom to self-activate, crushing activate.

Norm Hobbie, Michael Hobbie and Dave Corrigan uncovered critical evidence that the manufacturer of the remote control device knew, along before the happening of the accident, that the defect existed in the device which caused it to self-activate. In fact, while being deposed by Norm, the former president of the company, and inventor of the device, admitted that he had pleaded with the company to recall the product prior to the occurrence of the accident, but the company ignored his pleas, and failed to take any steps to remediate the defects or warn potential users of the device of its dangerous propensity.

After he was discovered by the police, B.R. was rushed to the hospital, where it was determined that he had sustained "severe and life threatening injuries" consisting of multiple skull fractures of both the base and vault of the skull. In addition to an emergency surgery performed upon admission to the hospital, B.R. underwent two additional surgeries. With respect to the settlement amount, Michael Hobbie stated that "No amount of money will ever fully compensate [B.R.] For his loss."

The settlement involved on up front payment of $1.4 million and a lifetime structured settlement.
